Who we are
STRMLY is a clipping agency. Creators ("clippers") post short videos for our clients from their own Instagram accounts, and we pay them per 1,000 views.
What we collect, and why
- Your name, email, phone and city, to know who you are and to contact you about your clips.
- Your UPI ID. This is the only way we can pay you. It is used for nothing else.
- The Instagram pages you tell us you post from, so clips can be matched to the person who posted them.
- The links to clips you submit, and the view and like counts on them. This is what your pay is calculated from.
If you connect your Instagram account
Connecting is optional. If you do, you authorise us through Instagram's own login, and we ask for exactly two things:
- Basic profile and media. Your username and the list of your own posts.
- Insights, the view, reach and like counts on your own posts.
Both are read-only. We cannot post, delete, comment, or send messages as you, and we do not ask for permission to. We read your posts' view counts so you get paid on measured numbers without having to report them yourself.
We store an access token so we can do this without asking you again. You can revoke it at any time from Instagram under Settings → Apps and websites, or by asking us. When you do, we stop reading and mark the connection dead.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information to anybody, ever.
- We do not post anything on your behalf.
- We do not read your direct messages. We have not asked for permission to.
- We do not look at accounts that have not been connected or told to us.
Who else sees it
Our clients see clip links and view counts for the campaign they paid for. They do not see your phone number, your email or your UPI ID. We use an email provider (Brevo) to send you messages, so they process your email address on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your clips and payment records for as long as we may need them for tax and accounting. You were paid real money and we have to be able to show it. Everything else we delete when you ask.
The content you post
The videos our creators post are supplied by our clients, who authorise us and the creators on their campaign to post them. Every clip is reported back to the client it was posted for. See content and copyright for the full picture, and what to do if you receive a copyright claim.
